The Upsilon Chapter of Theta Xi was founded in 1915 and has since been home to hundreds of UW men looking to expand their collegiate and professional experience. The Chapter is consistently recognized with national awards, including the coveted All True Men status that is given to Theta Xi chapters which go above and beyond the normal standards of our Fraternity. Our Chapter has over 70 active members and a web of alumni stretching coast to coast. We are also a Chapter of service and strive to help Theta Xi's national philanthropy efforts in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. You can find members raising money during our "Theta Pie" feeds and "Theta Xi Spike Out" volleyball tournament every spring.

Theta Xi is not just a house—it is a home for the brothers that live here. Our Brotherhood is at the core of who we are. We believe every person deserves the best support system they can get in order to flourish. Nurturing our bonds with each other is the most important aspect of fraternal life. We are dedicated to activities and events that focus on bringing our brothers closer together. These can be as simple as an in-house Smash Bros. tournament, a movie outing, or a bowling trip or as adventurous as a skydiving trip or weekend in Canada.

We are a ‘dry’ fraternity: drug and alcohol free. Drugs and alcohol are not stored or used inside of the chapter house. No part of the house budget is dedicated to spending on alcohol; instead, we use our funds for more significant activities. Our fraternity is proof that great social events don’t need alcohol for them to be worthwhile. Being substance free also comes with an added bonus: our house is always in good condition, which makes it a great place to live!

As one final note, we are still recruiting during the COVID-19 epidemic, but in a modified way. Contact our Recruitment Chairman and we will invite you to some virtual hangouts where you can meet our Brothers and find out why we all love Theta Xi.
