In 1846, Chi Psi built the very first fraternity house in the nation at the University of Michigan and called it, “The Lodge”, as it resembled a traditional hunting lodge. So as a tradition, all Alphas (chapters) of Chi Psi call their fraternity a Lodge.

Our Lodge was built in 1924 just three years after our founding at the University of Washington in 1921. It has undergone many recent renovations including: a Senior Annex with single rooms, updated bathrooms/showers, 2900 sq. ft. backyard, as well as a sundeck with views of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier. The large size of the main lodge allows us to house a total of around 70 Brothers, without having any sleeping porches (5+ person rooms).

Since our beginnings in 1921, Alpha Theta Delta of Chi Psi at the University of Washington, and at the National level, has been a Fraternity that values being a gentleman. We work to develop our individuals in Intellectual, Moral, and Social Life. We are a group of men committed to Academic Achievement, Individual and Collective Development, and Engagement within our community.

Brothers are involved in a range of activities and majors.. You can find brothers going hiking in the summers, skiing in the winter, volunteering at the UW Medical Center, participating in club and intramural sports, and more. We are a group of men who stay active, involved, and busy outside of the classroom. While we participate in many extracurriculars, that does not stop us from achieving top 5 in fraternity grades at the UW annually.

Our Philanthropy, Stuff the Bus, helps to raise over 25,000 meals annually to fight hunger in Western Washington. In partnership with Food Lifeline and Local QFCs, brothers collect food donations as well as run an online donation platform. Our philanthropy is the top grossing fraternity philanthropy at the University of Washington. We also participate in other IFC and Panhellenic philanthropies, with us being awarded AGD’s Mr. Greek for 2020. Brothers can also be seen participating in community service by helping to restore local parks and the environment.
